He better back it up when he gets back in the mix. All these injuries is making me think he might be even more fragile the next time around.

The thing I have a problem with is that while Thurman/Porter 2 would be a good fight we already saw that already. Everyone wants to see Thurman fight Spence or Crawford sooner than later. If he has his tune up than fights Porter, we might not see him fight Spence until sometime in 2020 the earliest. It just always feels like he makes excuses not to fight Spence for the past 2-3 years. It just feels like he’s doing the same exact thing that he accused others of doing in the past where he doesn’t really want to risk losing against someone that would likely be the favorite. I think even Pacquiao would have a good chance to beat him unless Thurman lands a big shot, since Pacquiao isn’t getting outboxed by Thurman even at 40.

I also wouldn't categorize Prograis or Ramirez as "bums" either. Two very realistic opponents for Bud in 2019 and Prograis will probably be an even more attractive opponent than Porter or Garcia at this point if he wins the WBSS. If he doesn't then Taylor becomes an attractive option who isn't a bum.

I doubt there's one Haymon fighter making $9m (minimum) next year outside of Wilder.
