How many people are watching via the app? I dont have a clue, but you cant ignore that more and more people will start watching with the app, because it is cheaper than normal from what ive heard.

What we do know is that showtime is commited to boxing and they wouldnt be if viewership numbers are actually that bad.
Even with these app I still think it's under 900k maybe even 800k. It's all demographics.

Showtime will never take over boxing because of two reasons! They don't develop stars and they are terrible at promoting! One more point, thru are also at the mercy of Al Haymon!

Never going to do a big number on Showtime, Saturday night opposite college football. Terrible numbers even adding in streaming. Steven for all his talk needs to kick this platform in the a$$, he's got great fights and no one watches.

Considering they were up against two big college football games and the hbo card i don't think those numbers are bad

“We’ve seen the development of stars very quickly. Viewership is growing. Subscriptions are growing. Free trials are growing; direct, tangible indicators (of success),” Espinoza, the President of Sports and Event Programming for Showtime, told The Ring.

“That’s a better advocate for the continued expansion of boxing programming than anything I or anyone here could possibly offer. … The proof is in the pudding.”

Danny and Porter are two of showtimes biggest names these numbers are dissapoiting no matter how you try to slice it. There's always other sporting events, shows, boxing events etc going on & I don't believe enough people are using the app to make a difference.

I think it's just bad promotion. Only reason I knew about this fight was because I follow the sport & I follow pbcs Facebook page. Idk what showtime is doing to reach casuals but it doesn't seem like they're doing much

The undercard wasn't great. I watched HBO until the Garcia/Porter fight started.

In the UK, we get early evening football and rugby league on Saturday. But after ~7.30, live sport is generally done. So Saturday evening is generally free for live boxing cards (7 to 11.30 pm).
