But yea if HBO keeps getting smaller as GBP's up & coming guys need a bigger platform he's gonna have to make some moves outside of HBO.

I think this streaming marketplace is just getting their toe weight with sports/boxing still so I'm sure Oscar will find a place to do business with.
They also have that Facebook streaming deal going on but they need to get on a major player like ESPN or something like that or get shut out of the market.

Nope. It was all true. With ESPN you are going to get all TR, Teiken, Warren and Zanfer cards. It will be the best bargain in boxing. It already is and will just get better. Meanwhile Showtime will lose some great fights to Fox and Pay per view just like your primo Scipio2009 already said. Fox doesnt pay 50 mil a year to broadcast junk lol.

So some PBC guys will shift over and you will get a weakened product on Showtime. THere will still be some good fights but you will be paying $15 a month to watch the likes of Gerald Washington, Rances Barthelemy, Devon Alexander, Victor Ortiz, etc. Guys no one cares about.

Despite this deal, television is by far is the best medium in the world; Especially American television. Those satellite images are powerful and can be delivered much faster than online. I have a question. If an established boxer is used to having their fights broadcast globally while receiving mainstream exposure, then why would they switch over to having their bouts streamed over the internet and risk being lost in boxing obscurity in the process?

Um no. You can't possibly be this dumb. FOX is only putting on 10 cards a year, about half of what SHO will put on. You are crazy if you think SHO will be paying 60+ in license fees to not show the likes of Spence/Charlos/Thurman/etc. PBC has the roster for both networks to get more than enough good fights.

ESPN+ is going to be really good value no doubt. But regular ESPN where they have to show 18 cards? Yeah, not so much.

Um yes you are about this dumb. Fox is paying 50 mil for 10 cards a year and aren't looking for Rances Barthelemy to headline for them.....use your brain. Showtime did 10 Showtime Championship Boxing cards last year plus 4 international cards and 1 ppv (floyd-mcgregor).

Wilder only had 1 fight on SHO with the Washington fight on Fox. These were time buys that got increasingly cheaper as far as the caliber of fighters purses. That all changes now with FOX actually paying for the fights. What do you think Victor Ortiz, Ivan Redach and Fonfara are going to headline FOX cards now? You must be high out of your mind.

Fox is going to want a good ROI so some of these top fights will go to FOX that would have been on SHO before. That isn't debatable. The fact that Kennie Porter already stated that a Spence fight would have to be on PPV is just telling you more and more of these guys are going to be shifted to PPV or to FOX. Sure SHO will still have some good fights. I never said they wouldn't but to think that their quality isn't going to suffer with Wilder going PPV and Spence likely going to PPV (and taking Mikey or Porter with him) will dilute the quality of cards.

Maybe you enjoy watching Sakio Bika, Devon Alexander, Andre Berto, Josesito Lopez and Anthony and Andre Dirrell but those retreads just don't do it for me

Lets say the Hearn model is exclusive not inclusive. He tries to squeeze every nickel short term by keeping any bid low. Then he tries to get any future nickels by extorting options. Cases for the low bid include, Pedraza v Smith (no bid, side deal), AJ v Wilder (unconcienable contract), and Maurice Hooker. Hooker is the most telling. Hearn got Maurice to go for the win now and I'll pay you better next time siren song. Hearn never intended to pay Maurice more, he let somebody else pay him more. Hearn got Maurice cheap and got out of the pay him more part of the contract. I imagine it's all legal, but I don't see it.
