Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Golovkin May End Canelo With 'Ginger Snap' Liver Shot!

Undefeated WBC/WBA/IBO Middleweight World Champion Gennady "GGG" Golvkin will be looking to break a record everyone believed would remain untouched -- the record he shares with the legendary Bernard Hopkins. On Saturday, Golovkin will attempt to make the 21st consecutive defense of the middleweight crown he has held since 2010, in a rematch against Lineal Middleweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez.

The ginger snap on a serious note I would like to see.ggg bring the body shots back , been headhunting too much recently. Know it's harder to land them against better opposition but surely if u try go to the body more against a fighter with already poor stamina it's only gonna be a good thing.

realistically thats the only way I can see either guy getting a stoppage, via hard liver shot. They both have A+ chins although I dont think Canelo tasted GGG hardest shot yet. The best hardest one he took was on the neck but it still landed with enough force to make his whole head turn.

GGG took several bombs on the chin and while i certainly believe they hurt him he never was wobbled and his legs never buckled he just kept coming. I think GGG could take a beating like provodnikov and still keep coming..which is a gift and a serious curse for later in life

like Roy said during the 1st fight, G was already getting countered hard all night while head hunting so he might as well have gone to the body since he was bound to get countered anyways

Now Abel is talking about the "myth" of Canelo? And a week ago Canelo was saying GGG is a myth. This is all starting to sound so scripted, like WWE. Will the fight be scripted? This doesnt sound like Abel at all.

So if all this banter results in just another boring Saturday night fight, I'm providing two links to some interesting reading about the history of Battle Royale. Here they are: https://www.cagesideseats.com/2013/3...ports-part-one
“No matter how cleverly a man might be holding his own, he was always in danger of having someone come at him from behind with a none-too-well padded fist. Scientific boxing was not in evidence. The contest was one of brutal physical endurance. When a man could keep it up no longer he left the ring and the winner was the man who stayed in longest -- As announced, the winner was to receive $4.00 the second place man $2.00 and the third $1.00.”

I hope that this presents no problem.

You're in a much more vulnerable position to getting countered when going to the body because you leave your whole face open and drop your hands.
