Danny needs a real trainer. He got out worked plain and simple. He boxed Porter well when he moved and landed better, but slowed late. That and selling weed isn't easy. Who wants a bunch of strangers knocking on thier door? And any fix is overhead.

This kind of petulant display coupled with a wildly inappropriate non-sequitur joke is classic Angel Garcia. The guy loves to talk so much he doesn't really care what he says.

Garcia lost, because he fought Porter the same way he fights everyone. He relies too much on pot shots, despite lacking the attributes to make it work. His feet are slow, so he sits down on his punches a lot. This doesn't work, because his power is average at 147, and he doesn't let his hands go much. His defense isn't very good either; Porter was tagging him left and right. I'm afraid Angel Garcia ran out of things to teach him, and his bitching isn't helping at all.

Porter used one of Garcia's geatest strengths against him. Garcia's known for having great timing on his counters, and ironically enough, Porter had success countering Garcia. Not only that, but he also used jabs and feints to throw off Garcia's rhythm. Porter changed by adding some fundamentals to his style. He's still the aggressive Porter we're familiar with, but he's smarter with his offense now.

"You didn't give us the win so now we're going to turn to a life of crime". It's a terrible outlook on life and must be a negative influence on Danny - like life is over now. I think his presence hindered Garcia more than anything else in the fight. He's all doom and gloom and has an excuse for everything.

In any case maybe they are moving up here to Canada , rec weed legal in November!
Yeah I've never thought his pop was even remotely qualified. Bottom line: Danny does NOT throw enough punches. Most any fight fan could tell you that, but his pop won't listen to ANYBODY. And that's an easy thing to fix in training. Shame too, Danny could've been a good bit better than he's turned out.

What life of crime are you talking about?

Slicc, good points in your post.
I thought the fight was pretty entertaining, close, and victory given to the correct fighter. BUT, I'm just a causal & probably don't know what a good fight looks like cause I didn't think to turn it off only 2 mins in.
One criticism of Garcia's performance I've not come across yet is how in the middle rounds when Porter was starting to come on, Garcia just seemed to be standing there a lot of the time looking indecisive, confused, & more & more overwhelmed by all of Porter's activity which looked to be increasingly effective. Danny looked lost. Whether he was or not, I don't know, but I don't think he was as confused as I thought he looked in those moments, but boxing is judged on what's being seen.
As others are saying, maybe Danny believed he'd be able to get the upper hand/hurt/possibly knock Porter out with a counterpunch. Maybe he thought Porter was giving him 1,000,010 opportunities to do so and eventually he would catch him. of course, only he knows that.
Sean fought an impressive fight in my eyes, coming out and fighting what is probably the closest thing to a technical fight he's capable of. It still wasn't pretty, & those moments were probably his least effective in the fight, but it was able to confuse Danny quite a bit I think. Danny never knew what was going to be coming. In the end, good and close fight.
