I felt Garcia won close but he did get outworked in enough rounds to make them arguable. Not a bad decision but not one that I agreed with.
Garcia landed the cleaner, harder, better shots but as often is the case he let the fight be closer than it should have been.

He has been the most overrated, overestimated, protected and carried fighter in the game. He is just your typical overachiever. For example: He got very lucky in that Khan fight and never gave him a rematch.
In addition, he is slowly becoming a gatekeeper. Each time he raises his level of opposition he tends to come up just short.
His fans always like to point to his resume but I could defeat a 100 year old Erik Morales, Zab Judah or a fighter 10 to 15 years older than me all by myself and I have never stepped inside of a boxing ring in my life.
Both his father and Al Haymon are well aware of this also. They don't believe in him either; Thus giving him the title of cherrypicker by subsequently feeding him a steady diet of low risk fighters.

Last night was no politics though. Porter deserved the close fight. Maybe what Angel meant was that Politics are no longer working in his son's favor.

Porter will be punished by Spence and look bad while Garcia can walk from this fight knowing that he was the more effective puncher and never looking bad in a fight. Until he faces Spence in 2 years that is as a mandatory
