    Man that chit was awful.

I watched the fight wanting Porter to win because he seems more humble.

What an horrible way to fight man. I'm not sure that's boxing.

Leading with the head and shoulders and then try to land short hooks. I don't know. I felt boxing lost tonight.

I like Porter but that was horrible.

It's just Porter's version of ambush fighting. It's an entertaining style to watch imo, but not quite conventional boxing although he did flash a very nice jab sometimes. Haye was an ambush fighter too but used a different punch selection and he was more polished than Porter.

I gave Garcia the nod because, despite what punch stats said, I don't count "punches" landed by forearms, heads, shoulders or palms.

Porter's style is not too pleasant on the eyes .

For the majority of the rounds he actually fought in a straight up boxers stance and moved in & out very much in an amateur style.
He knows how to box because he was a successful amateur and national competitor.
However his height dictates he goes in low and brings his shots up and around his opponent. It may not look pleasing to you but you don't consider styles out side of what you prefer as quality.

I think you forget this is a FIGHT using boxing rules. He didn't take liberties he simply out worked his opponent and everyone who follows these young men figured it could happen.

Good fight, evenly matched and both men acquitted themselves very well.

Exactly...though this was a case of me wishing that we still had 15 rounds for title fights.

But why is this even surprising? Have you never seen porter fight before? This is what he does.

This is the first I hear of people thinking Danny won. I thought Porter won a clear but very competitive fight. He just landed so much and Danny was completely frozen on the defensive. Porter’s pressure was incredible. He was giving a ton of movement and angles with his body punching. There was a sequence in the 11th where Porter chased Garcia down the entire ring with punches. Danny just couldnt get ANY breathing room. Honestly I’ve always liked Porter but Last night I became a legitimate fan.

Porter himself doesnt fight particularly appealing but last night he was very good and more refined than usual. He outboxed and outfought Danny. He was just basically too much man for Danny last night.

It takes real confidence and discipline to fight the way Porter did. Last night was a better fight than I thought itd be.

And Danny is sturdy as s hit. His composure and ability to take shots upstairs and down is impressive. Fair play.
