Is PBC really a bad thing

Haymon is hated too, i agree but since Joshua/Wilder became a thing Hearn has been persona non grata #1 on here
I don't think he's racist, just a nationally biased American with huge ego and delusion of grandeur.
He's funny to read
'Will not'....
A 24 hour cap and didn't want to attend a already scheduled meeting with HearnHe is a snake and he is a liar. That's his job. He's a promoter. But not every word is a lie. Hearn is a brilliant promoter and mixes in a lot of truth in order to trick people into buying the lies.
Finkel has been telling the truth throughout this process. There was nothing shady about the 50 million offer and it didn't have a 24 hour cap. It had the same exact deadline as Hearn's 12.5 million offer. In fact, they copied & pasted it straight from Hearn's offer as a bit of negotiating gamesmanship. Were you complaining when Hearn did the same thing? When he sent the 12.5 offer, he said he needed an answer by the end of the next day. So when the 50 million offer was sent, they said the same thing, answer by the end of the next day.
If that's not shady to you then i don't know what to tell you
So how about those credentials I've asked you to show us months ago? Still nothing?Comment

Not a bad thing, just overhyped in what it was going to do for boxing. Nothing has changed. Good matchups come at the same rate as before.Comment

you in the "DANZ" thread
People who don't like Hearn. IE: Wilder fanboys. But truthfully if Haymon had a deal with DAZN the same people who are criticizing it would be praising it and the people who like it now would be hating on it. Its just part of the tribalism/racism that is unfortunately very common among certain segments of boxing fans.Comment

Wrong.
We got away from it because networks were not interested in buying content. Promoters will sell content to whoever is buying, and for a very long time, network TV had ZERO interest in high-level boxing content.
Haymon certainly pulled off a great deal, getting Fox to pony up a multi-year deal. I still have my doubts as to whether or not it will make sense for Fox in the long run, but I guess we will find out when it comes time to renew the deal. I just have a hard time getting my head around the idea of an advertiser-supported programming that technically could be over in 10 minutes. It obviously works for lower level programming like Boxeo Telemundo or Friday Night Fights, where the actual participants are somewhat irrelevant, but I have my doubts as to whether or not it works for high-end fights, where the participants DO matter. Its not like football, or basketball, where the network knows how many commercials they can sell. The fight literally could be over in the first round, which would not be good for any advertisers whose spots hadnt run yet.
Ultimately its Fox's problem now, and Haymon made a great deal for his company and his guys..........Last edited by OnePunch; 09-08-2018, 03:24 PM.Comment

You know what it is, all those racist whitebreads wanna hold uncle Al down.
Personally, the fights aren't aired enough and when they are, it's mostly low level no names. They put on "big fights" like 5 times a year or so it feels and it always seems like there is a favorite guy who is expected to win. If that fight is remotely close, the fav is gonna coast in a 11-1, 10-2 fight decision win.
Spence is the biggest name they have coming up and all of their other "stars" seem like they coast for 1-2 years then fight a real challenge. Who is Spence going to be fighting in a year because I don't see any other the other guys at PBC challenging him from fear of catching a loss? The whole thing feels fabricated, kinda fake imo.
To be fair in my criticism, boxing across the board seems down as if there aren't enough people interested in the sport to build momentum. Arum has guys fighting on this crap app, DLH has one marketable boxer who fights in rigged up matches just to keep her from having 3 losses on the record already. Next week will put an end to that hype train though at last. Then there are the small fry promoters who sometimes pop up out of the shadows to put their guy on once a year or so. The corruption in the sport has really turned a lot of people off to it but that seems like it's just part of boxing I guess, SMH.Comment
