Netflix and other streaming services can be put on at anytime of the day to watch something you want. They provide the content that allows that. With DAZN, what content will they provide for subscriber to throw on DAZN on a Tuesday at 6pm? I pay for the services I have because I get to enjoy them whenever I want. With DAZN you will watch a fight card for a few hours on a Saturday and that's it, what else are they going to show that will interest subscribers in the US?
is DAZN really a bad thing?

DAZN works better for you lot than Americans most won't care about the UK fights and would never paid for itSo, Hearn, a British promoter, gets rich off the British peoples backs....cuts a deal with DAZN that gives Americans access to 77 live fights for $9 a month while British people still have to pay Sky a subscription and then pay extra for his fights on box office. Doesn't even bother trying to get DAZN for us....he's one slimey ****.
Plus DAZN could've bought the rights of US sports to broadcast in UK along with other European sportsComment

to the posters above....Netflix launched it's streaming service in the UK when fibre internet wasn't even a thing and Sky TV and BBC had crisp clear aerial and satellite broadcasts. Today Netflix is showing the same British BBC shows we can watch for free on BBC iplayer and 4OD on it's own platform for Ł7.99 (e.g. the office, peep show, Dr Who). Amazon Prime owned the exclusive coverage of the US Open in the UK for the first time this year after it was shown on Sky and Eurosport for years. DAZN can compete but won't invest...i.e. bottom dollar company with bottom dollar clients like HearnComment

if someone is hating on DAZN, its probably because they are small minded idiots, that's why.
more money poured into the sport is a good thing, a rising tide lifts all boatsComment

It's Hearn and the fact that less fights are probably going to get made between promoters and networks. The best thing they have is the WBSS, glad someone picked them up.
I like what the PBC is doing since we have card on Fox now so it gives casual fans more exposure to the sport. The issue most people will have is the price which will be tough for some when you are already spending money on other apps.Comment

Yeah, that's a great coup. The signs are good so far with Andrade-Saunders and Usyk signed in addition to the three tournaments. That's a lot better than I thought it would start out.
I am just worried that if it gets big then surely it's going to be very difficult getting the big names/best fighters under DAZN to fight on Showtime or ESPN and those promoters wont want their biggest names/best fighters fighting on DAZN.
There's good and bad coming out of it in that sense I guess. For chord cutters it's actually very good because the price is excellent and the amount of fights they will be staging is huge.Comment

cuz nobody (me) wants to pay an extra subscription to watch fighters they would have otherwise seen on the channels they already pay for.Comment
