The 200lb division has always seemed like a underrespected division in the US for w/e reason. Its a bastard division in many peoples minds it feels like or something lol. That seems to go back to even when Holyfield was running it.

But idk if its a big loss opportunity or anything for US promoters. I've said this a million times but the US isn't foreign athlete friendly. Maybe no country really is idk.

You got a big uphill climb making your non-American, non-Latino boxer big in the US market. There has been few stories with foreign fighters doing THAT well in the US. In 30yrs its basically down to Lennox (cuz he was a HW when HW was super sexy), Manny (cuz he had a fun fighting style + a likeable personality) & arguably GGG (cuz "Mexican Style" & "Big Drama Show") becoming big draws. And there are some smaller success stories like Loma & others.

But after the Bellew fight, I'm sure he will dangle the AJ carrot in front of Usyk.
has wilder signed to fight fury yet ? I thought not.
When wilder accepts he is the B-side then the fight gets made and when it gets made Joshua knocks matchstick legs wilder out.

espn+ is a better value than showtime to be honest. Especially with fox poaching some of their fights.

HBO is a waste of money. With the WBSS and UK fights added to Matchroom USA they are on equal footing As Showtime but at a cheaper price and with bellator so they have edge over SHO.

That ESPN+ with a minimum of 3 cards a month is still the best value and that doesn’t include the Espn shows

That mindset is all wrong, we don't watch soccer, it's not a team kind of sport so the nationality doesn't matter. The audience wants to see competitive matchups, sooner or later they will get tired watching Broner going life and death with C class fighters.

Fighters like Usyk don't cost a lot, and fighters like AB thinks 40$ mil deal with Roc isn't good enough. It's a smaller investment that can be more useful. We don't talk about big money since I am sure they don't ask for much anyway. Promoters have a chance to get a better package (or equal quality) for smaller price

I like that fight as well. So yeah, Usyk will have more than enough options with Hearn once he decides he wants to go up to HW.

Good stuff by both parties here!
ya..im not a fan of hearn....but its a quality move...and ur right....the hearn/dazn platform is perfect for a guy like usyk...

The mindset might be wrong, but its the mindset of the consumer...or so it seems to me.

Me I like boxing. And I got big respect for a guy like Usyk. And I'm gonna watch all his fights til he retires or I get hit by a bus most likely.

The general US consumer on the other hand that makes the difference between you having a good following to being a mainstream star seem to care where you are from & if you don't got some extra sh^t on top of being a good boxer then you will NEVER be a big draw in the US.

Maybe Usyk gots that extra sh^t idk. Maybe all that "I am feel" stuff becomes his lil angle into the hearts & minds of fans beyond us hardcores idk. I just know the deck is stacked against foreign fighters in the US so I don't necessarily see a US promoter not picking up Usyk as some lost opportunity cuz you need a lot of promotion, big fights won & luck on your side to get anywhere with that type of guy on US soil.
