Wow! Al Haymon has done it. His hard work and diligence has finally paid off. He took a very risky venture and turned it into a fortune. So major Kudos and much congratulations to him on his new business journey in making boxing a mainstream sport again.

Morality wins! I guess it's safe to say that it is time for me to cancel my HBO subscription now.

If I was in charge of HBO boxing I would put it out of business.

Respect to Haymon. This deal has been floating around as a rumor for awhile.

Lotsa money in boxing right now. HBO is rumored to have a $20M-$30M budget. Showtime is throwing $50M to PBC per year mostly it sounds like. Fox is throwing $50M a year to PBC. DAZN threw Fast Eddie $120M a year. ESPN is giving Bobby Arum $30M+. Thats a lot of mfing money. Upwards of $300M a year.

With that much money they are either gonna be overpaying the f#ck outta guys, assuming you can overpay guys taking punches to the head & putting their life on the line for entertainment, or they are gonna need to start working together to insure they pay guys big for the fights fans wanna see even if fake lines in the sand need to be crossed to make certain fights. Here's hoping for the latter.

Seems like the cats in charge of HBO boxing have been slowly doing that for 2 decades to me. They have been on a clear path to ending one of the best runs in televised boxing in modern sports history.

Its kinda gonna be a sad moment when it does happen, but a blind man can see it is & has been coming for 2 decades now despite all this recent talk of a merger impacting boxing for some knuckleheaded reason despite HBO throwing money at all sorts of other sh^t...just not boxing lol.

They did sell that giant ass above the ring thing I believe. I haven't seen that thing in a couple years iirc. Idk about Ebay. Maybe they threw it on Offer Up or Wish since those things are arguably hotter then Ebay these days lol.

But yea these so called boxing fans that have been rooting against boxing by rooting against PBC is one of the weirder things I've seen some boxing fans do.

I agree and outside of Golden Boy and Main Events who do they have left? They are the last major boxing promoters working with that television network. They have a very limited and sparse talent pool. Also, this new PBC deal is coming on the heels of them passing on the Sergey Kovalev/Eleider Álvarez rematch in December.

Yep. And with them passing on that Kovalev vs Alvarez II fight that could be a sign of that Main Events relationship coming to an end or certainly no Kovalev on HBO makes HBO Boxing drop down another level. Granted it seems like maybe Kov's career has run its course, but the main point is HBO aren't finding the new guys to take the old guys spots like they used to do.
