It was not a bigger fight than Lara vs. Hurd which was a unification between the #1 and #2 in the division. Linares has always been overhyped and I've been saying that for years. Way before there was ever any talk of him fighting Loma

Now, trim some fat, sign up a couple more fighters for depth and I'd recommend Richard Schaefer as matchmaker and not promoter because he was on fire in 2013 in that role, knowing how to structure fights and build them up right.

That and HBO making a comeback would make me very happy
Schaefer was primary promotor for Gbp matchmaker was Eric Gomez I think

Thats exactly what i said "not all fights are gonna be huge" but gb and tr at least gave their fighters the best available option. Not some trash and serving it to the fans saying its a good fight like pbc. And again, are u on crack? Gb and tr have worked together this year a number of times. Also with loeffler and duva. The only one who doesnt is.....well uncle al

Nobody outside of hardcore fans cared about that fight and it got garbage ratings. I'm talking about BIG fights. Lara vs Hurd was fought in a small casino on premium cable. Lomachenko vs Linares was in MSG on ESPN. Huge difference there.

This ^. I just don't understand fanboys in general but PROMOTER fanboys?
              Fking saaaaad.
When I say something about Hearn it never fails that some idiot comes back at me with something about Haymon. As if I give a *** about Haymon.

This is good for fighters trying to get to the next level, future prospects, etc.

                Gervonta Davis
                Danny Garcia
                Mikey Garcia
                Jarrett Hurd
                Erislandy Lara
                Luis Ortiz
                Shawn Porter
                Leo Santa Cruz
                Errol Spence Jr
                Adonis Stevenson
                Keith Thurman
                Deontay Wilder
                Eleider Alvarez
                David Benavidez
                Adrien Broner
                Jermall Charlo
                Jermell Charlo
                Andre Berto

                Efe Ajagba
                Sergiy Derevyanchenko
                Robert Easter Jr
                Omar Figueroa Jr
                Carl Frampton
                Adam Kownacki
                Abner Mares
                John Molina Jr
                Victor Ortiz
                Caleb Plant
                Gary Russell Jr
                Joey Spencer
                Eimantas Stanionis
                Austin Trout
                Izuagbe Ugonoh
                Julian Williams

If the top 10-15 fighters fight 2-3 times a year that is easily 30-40 cards and that is all you really need since there is competition from other networks.

LOL, the arguements in here. Nice deal. Aint gunna see anyone crossing networks now though, walls been built higher. Wonder what Golden Boy do. Top Rank, PBC, Hearn all claiming to have the biggest budgets now. GB gunna align with one of them, Canelo excluded, or bare it out with the remnants of HBO and Facebook, K2 aswell?

Anyone putting boxing out to the public is helping boxing, the more boxing the better

So when you say big fights you aren't talking about significance of the fight. So going by your metrics Mayweather-McGregor was the biggest fight of 2017 and Mayweather-Berto was the biggest fight of 2015. Right?
