Comments Thread For: Jarrett Hurd: At 160, Jacobs is Easiest For Me, Golovkin is Hardest

IBF, WBA, IBO junior middleweight world champion Jarrett Hurd (22-0, 15 KOs) is back to work after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder in June. Hurd was in action back in April, when he dropped Erislandy Lara in the twelfth and final round to clinch a twelve round split decision to unify the three titles in his possession.

He might be right but if Jacobs decides to use the same strategy that Trout did (for the first 6 rounds). Hurd might realize that it's not that easy to "break down" a full fledge 160 than it was to "break down" Trout or Lara (and 12rd KO was needed to edge it against Lara).

Jacobs is just as big as he is,faster and more athletic..I think Jacob beats him, golovkin vs Hurd is a no contest..he punches too hard for the very hittable Hurd, charlo is a better fight for Hurd..charlo untested yet

For some strange reason, I don't believe the Hurd/Charlo fight will be made at 154 before the end of the summer of 2019! The powers at be will not risk either guy loosing before Hurd moves up to 160! I don't see what's the problem when both guys are under the same banner but that's nothing new?

I think they're both bad matchups for him for different reasons. I don't think he can withstand Golovkin's artillery or Jacob's superior mobility and explosiveness.

The IBO likely paid for this article to be made...

You need to be worried about 154 not 160.

What a silly-boy this Jeff Hurd is, Gennady is not going to be champion for much longer, Jermall is his mando.

No matter where Hurd goes, Charlo bros are going to be there waiting, Jeff needs to come to terms with that and accept it and get it over with.
