First, I really respect what Joe Cortez is saying especially because he has been around boxing like forever. He knows more about boxing than everyone on this forum would ever dream of knowing and everyone put together so put some damn respect on his name! HALL OF FAME REFEREE...JOE CORTEZ!!!!
2nd, I notice (2) things he said which were very TRUE, coming again from a guy that has been inside the ring seeing fighters up close, been around gyms, been around trainers, been around boxing experts, knows boxing inside and out, fighters tendencies,etc. So excuse me if I want to hear what Cortez has to say than a bunch of amateurs on a boxing forum including “ME, MYSELF, & I.” I’m a dummy compared to Joe.

Not sure a Korean would pick the 'white' box on the US immigration form though (especially when there is an 'asian' box that helpfully states 'eg korean').
However, if going by the parents, he's half russian and half korean. So i guess a 'semi-Asian Kazakh'. No idea what box he would pick, but i guess he could choose.Comment

what people fail to see is that there is a difference between race and colour. and fyi i lived in japan and s korea and they would be delighted to be considered white, considering they spend all their time avoiding the sun at all costs. culturally they look at white skin as a sign of power and higher social class so yes koreans are, and consider themselves white!! just not the conventional western whiteComment

I don't think the phrasing "too much backtracking" is right. That's part of the language people use to discredit Canelo. Keep in mind I don't think Canelo won the first fight, but his problem wasn't so much "running" as it was not throwing / landing more punches.
For the rematch he has to either hurt GGG, to keep him at bay or knock him out, or throw, and land, more punches.
GGG needs to start putting on the pressure early, make Canelo over move from the 1st round, go to the body and improve his punch selection.Comment
