So fighting 1 pound above JMW is that important to you guys? I would think requiring a 147 pound fighter - Kell Brook - to move up 13 pounds (instead of his offered 10) would be a bigger deal. But GGG refused to budge 3 pounds to Kell's 10...needed Kell to go the whole 13 pounds.

What a stud this GGG XD XD

By the way Canelo didn't whine and cry about a few pounds like Gennady...Canelo took the CW and seized the opportunity...like a man and adult. In the same way Canelo made 152 for Floyd...like an adult.

Canelo and Cotto were JMW fighters...could be argued Canelo is a fringe MW even today.

Why did GGG not fight Andrade or Dervenchenko?

And the MW class that supposedly "ducked" GGG was one of the weakest - ever - in the history of the division.

You don't hear GGG calling out Charlo or any of the other lions. Just whining and crying about Canelo...a JMW who started at, what, JWW?

Yeah, the dude is a bum-dominator. That's it.

But he's unwilling to fight bigger fighters...calling out Curtis Stevens (JMW), Gabe Rosado (JMW), Canelo (JMW), Cotto (WW-JMW), Kell Brook (WW), Vanes (JMW), and old AF/retired fighters in Sergio Martinez and Carl Froch...but wouldn't fight Andre Ward (SMW), Charlo (MW), BJS (MW), Andrade (MW), Dervenchenko (MW), etc.

Jacobs’s didn’t fight him until late 2016 for areason. If he isn’t a mw then why fight 3 times? Once ggg became a threat all of a sudden I’m not a mw lmfao

lil'g resume is pathetic. There's no defending it. He could've achieved greatness by fighting Ward, but didn't.

4 champions at 36, is downright sad.

Nobody was calling for Danny to fight GGG until he dominated Quillin. At that time, actually, everyone was saying Quillin was ducking GGG. Jacobs wasn't even a factor as he had been KTFO and hurt by feather-fisted Mora...so it was a foregone conclusion Gennady stops him.

          March, 2017 - Gennady Golovkin
September, 2016 - Sergio Mora rematch
          December, 2015 - Peter Quillin
          August, 2015 - Sergio Mora

Miguel Cotto? A middleweight? He fought there 3 times? You kids are such pathetic hypocrites.

Miguel Cotto fought at 159, 157, and 155. He never fought at 160 - not once. He was never a Middleweight, never.

And it's not up for debate. Hell he was small for JMW...

You still can’t answer the fact that he cries about being a small MW yet chooses to fight 3 times. Max called him out in the ring about fighting ggg and he said do I look like a mw yet he holds the belts and chose to fight one more time at MW. I know cotto was small but why pick and choose who you want to fight when the real threat was sitting there waiting for his turn? Cotto should have just said no I’m going back down and left it at that and gone back down but he didn’t! What part of that do you not understand?
Canelo got paid plenty for those 2 pounds. Ggg would have bent over for a shot at money may even ward was willng to go down and meet him. Money talks. You are just a hater that screws the story to suit your agenda. There is a reason why ggg was ducked by so many for so long. He was a super high risk and very low reward. That’s the truth of the matter real boxing fans see this blinded haters come up with excuses

              Nailed it.

Now Golovkin is looking for money fights...just when the division has got more competition.

After this Canelo fight, don't be surprised if he fights Canelo again or retires after the following fight.

Cotto's actions speak for his words. He fought at 159, moved down to 157, moved down to 155, and returned to 154.

Gennady said "no catchweight for Cotto". So Canelo took the chance and the fame/money that comes with it.

Andre Ward was far more relevant and popular in the timeframe their fight was being discussed. Gennady went on to fight Willie Monroe and the guy on house arrest. In between those fights he balked at fighting Canelo at a Catchweight.

Terrific business decisions. Just kidding. They were awful. Did he eventually get the Canelo fights and the money? Yes. However, he missed out on a lot more by waiting until he was 36-37 years old when he could've been the A-side since 34-35...over a few measly pounds...

                    So sad.

He was a middleweight. Floyd Mayweather never fought one time at middleweight. He was not a middleweight.
Miguel Cotto was never a Middleweight. He technically fought in that weight class on 3 occasions, but you are some kind of dense (********** trash most likely) if you believe JWW Miguel Cotto was a MW

155 + 157 + 159 = Average of 157 which is not 160 nor is it 154...a blind man can clearly see he was not a MW lol. Even at 155 JMW Canelo dwarfed Cotto
