I have a feeling in my gut this fight could go the way of the challenger. Normally I don't give the unheralded Brits a chance when going abroad, but this one seems different somehow...

you should probobly watch his fight with that african journeyman, who was his best win untill buglioni. went life and death with him until the old african dude gassed out his arse. ill take any bet, not only does beterbiev win but he KO's johnson in disgusting fashion.

He isn't ready yet. Not offence but western european boxer (Like us this generation) have a soft under belly. The way eastern europe grew their kids and boxer from day 1 is totally different. If they fight now Callum would be counting stars from above on his back.

someone tried to tell me on here that it isn't a mismatch haha. They had been listening to Hearn too much i think.

He's literally jumping from beating a mid-domestic level fighter to one of the very best in the world. Good luck to him, but i don't see how it ends well at all.

Callum Johnson lost his father in 2016 and has said he went to some dark places and was on the brink of alcoholism in the immediate aftermath. Don't think his father left his side throughout his whole amateur and pro career. He is now totally focused and wants to achieve his dreams in memory of his dad. I know Beterbiev has a great amateur pedigree, but Callum also has a very good amateur grounding. Won 95 out of about 120 contest, won Gold in the only tournament he participated, the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Nah Beterbiev will get to him. Might be interesting early though. Johnson is quite sharp

He’s not like aMichael Jennings/Gary Lockett type challenger.

But he’s not gonna win either.

                He’ll give it a go.

Yeah i knew about that, every time i have seen him fight hes cried going into, and after all the fights...fair enough i might too if my old man & mentor passed away but the point is, he is too emotional and will get drawn into a war and badly merked.

If he could stay unemotional and focused and box to a gameplan then he would have a slight chance

You just tnever know, I've got a feeling early on Johnson might do it, but if it goes later rounds than I've got Beterbiev.
