Is Dillian Whyte a bigger draw than Deontay Wilder?

I'm so humored by how Hearn has low-key managed to get the Brits to fall in line. They repeat what he says without even realizing it.
The idea that Whyte was on PPV therefore he's bigger is ******. Just ******. Just like the people who buy his PPV.
A big part of Eddie Hearn's DAZN pitch was that too many PPVs had ruined boxing in the US. Let that sink in. US boxing PPVs occur about 1-2 times a year. Whereas over in the UK, he'll happily throw Whyte-Parker on PPV. And because folks are dumb enough to buy it...well, Whyte must be bigger!
Can't make this stuff up.Comment

You reckon Wilder does a Mill+ over here?
Also what the hell even is that second point?
You think 500k Ghanaians are gonna £25 a month for sky and then pay £20 on PPV

I think we're discussing viewership. Whether people are ****** enough to pay to watch Dillian Whyte on PPV is their business. The Brits are getting squeezed by Hearn and thus have somehow concluded that because they're willing to pay to see him, he must be a big draw.
Anyone in the UK who knows Dillian Whyte knows Deontay Wilder. The same doesn't apply in the US.Comment

Most Joshua fans know who Wlder is, you reckon they draw the same over here as well?
If 500k people pay to see you that makes you a draw. Doesn’t matter whether you agree they should have paid or not. I didn’t pay for May vsMac and thought anyone buying pretty ******, doesn’t mean they aren’t draws. Your logic is ridiculousComment

The problem with that theory is that no one even knows who Whyte is here. The same doesn't hold true in reverse. He's a draw in the tiny UK, a nobody elsewhere. Wilder is a draw in the big US and known everywhere else.Just cos you know who someone is, doesn’t make them a draw.

The funny thing about this argument about Whyte being as good a draw as Wilder is that if they ever fought, Whyte would probably get 30%. Not because he isn't a champ (if you're a draw, it doesn't matter), but because the two are on different levels popularity-wise.Comment
