He's a juiced-up smw/lhw. He has been reported to walk around @ 170-175lbs for a number of years now.

Kell Brook is reported to walk around at 180+ and he currently fights at welter.

The most reported weight Canelo has put on has been around 17lbs, 16lbs on average which isn't all that unusual in boxing. ggg fans act like his opponents are putting on 20-30lbs minimum, that's ridiculous, you can't look as healthy as guys like DJ or Canelo did during their weigh ins.

Look at the comments, showtime had the graphic mixed up which was pointed out by the fans. Canelo was outweighed by Angulo by 4lbs, even Kirkland outweighed him when he fought Ishida at 173, Ishida himself came in at 169 during rehydration.

Showtime accidentally posted Angulo's weight/reach/height etc. under Canelo's picture and vice versa. Everybody else ran with it.

17 & 18lbs are at the upper end of re-hydration but aren't extremes like 20lbs+. It's not like Canelo's opponents don't put on weight either. Come fight night the weights they're at aren't as big as a disparity as guys like Mayweather or Pacquiao have been where it's 14lbs.

People are acting like Canelo is putting on 20-30lbs. Sanchez for example claimed Jacobs weighed 182 against ggg, in reality he was closer to 174-176 at the most.

Canelo doesn't or didn't bro? I find him in general to be very accurate. Puts opponents off committing to a sustained attack against him. I'm rooting for ggg again though my favourite active fighter.

Even Jarrett Hurd at 154 is bigger, actual MW's look like ggg, Jacobs, BJS, etc. which are rare these days. If Canelo had fought a decade earlier he'd have been fighting monster middles like 6'1 Hopkins, 6'2 Pavlik, 6'1 Taylor, even Abraham as small as he was is much bigger.

Agreed. Hurd is more of a middleweight than Alvarez is or ever will be.
