Canelo pieced him up real good in the first fight, clearly landed the best shots, but at the end of the day he's just not that big a puncher.
He's a juiced-up smw/lhw. He has been reported to walk around @ 170-175lbs for a number of years now.

Golovkin didn't say Canelo hits like a girl or a kid. But you know even if a baby slaps you on the nose, your eyes will water, and you won't want to get slapped again. The object is to hit and not get hit. You can't expect one grown man to just walk through another grown man's punches, even if they don't have devastating power.

Canelo clearly has power. Pretty dumb comment.

I totally agree with you. But that goes both ways.
Too many people on here calling Canelo a coward cause he didn't stand in the same spot and traded shots with Triple g.. Why would he?
You said it yourself.. The object is to hit and not get hit.
So why would Canelo trade shots with Triple g??
          This is boxing not brawling!
Styles make fights so of course a fighter's job is to find an opponent's weaknesses and capitalize off of them. That's what Canelo did against Triple g.

Canelo is an average puncher. He's average in many respects actually

The body shots wouldnt score as much as a head shot. Some common sense, if Golovkin went to the body he never would have beaten Canelo at all.

With that said, Golovkin in the interview(video) that I saw said that maybe it was because of the adrenaline, or because canelo was tired, but he didnt feel his power. Both would be the truth, canelo didnt land much of anything in terms of bombs in the first 6 rd's, he only started to land when golovkin felt he had weakened and Then golovkin started presenting his head (margarito style), as he likes to do when he feels he's began dominating. The only one that actually landed bombs early was golovkin with the left hooks in rd3, something most people didnt pick up on, was that golovkin was actually more elusive in the first half than canelo. Even canelo said post fight he was difficult to land on as he gave him his shoulder and moved away when he'd go on the offensive.
Golovkin was elusive?? Next you will be saying Margarita fights a similar style to Mayweather

I think maybe they gave Canelo that flack because of the trash he talked. I imagine he would get the same or even more flack if he goes on the retreat this fight, since he says he's going to KO Golovkin. You can't KO someone if you're moving around the ring, avoiding the other guy too much. We both know in order to score a KO, one has to engage the opponent, which of course, leaves one open to counter-attacks.
