Even against Jacobs he was not that much smaller:

Canelo made 154 vs Smith 1 year before he fought ggg. The last time ggg could make 154 was probably close to a decade ago.

And yes, Mayweather is naturally a smaller fighter, his knockouts all but disappeared at the higher weights just like Canelo's. I brought up Jean Pascal as the perfect analogy, he was at major physical disadvantages vs Kovalev despite appearing to be the bigger fighter.
I never said Golovkin is a small middleweight.
    And neither is Canelo.
Floyd has grown into a true welter after retiring for two yrs. The size disparity even against Hatton can be seen.
Cotto fighting at 160, now that’s a small middleweight.
Pac fighting at 147. Now that’s a small welter.
Floyd fighting at 154, now that’s a small light middleweight.
    Loma is a small 135lber
    Mikey is a small 140lber

Canelo is not a small 160lber.
Golovkin is not a small 160lber.

You can't KO someone if you're moving around the ring, avoiding the other guy too much. We both know in order to score a KO, one has to engage the opponent, which of course, leaves one open to counter-attacks.
You seem like you know boxing so you should know that most Fighters say one thing and do a completely different thing... So what?
If that's the case then we should hold all boxers accountable for what they say before a fight.
But C'mon, I've seen plenty of counterpunchers knock out opponents while countering. Canelo is a counterpuncher!
He never said he was gonna walk Triple g down.
The fact is most fans don't really know what boxing is really about.
They just wanna see two guys stand in the middle of the ring and trade punches till one of them gets knocked out. And that's fine but they gotta understand it's not always gonna happen.

Ggg isn't one of them though. This is Canelos 2nd fight ever at the full 160 pound limit. This is ggg's 400+... Who has the advantage here? Regardless of what they actually weigh on fight night? I think we both are smart enough to know ggg has the advantage there.no no debate
ggg is the career mw and Canelo isn't. But I believe that as far as build, Canelo was always destined to be a mw. I don't look at him the way people viewed cotto as a small mw, or pac as a small welterweight.

I understand, but we tend to hang on words, because words are supposed to mean something. Both men are talking KO, and frankly, I'm just excited to see how it all plays out. Strategies, counter-strategies, adjustments, endurance, speed, power, reaction time, with bad blood to top it off. This is going to be one great fight, my brother!

Not wanting to get hit with counter punches doesn't mean he feared getting KOed by Canelo. If he gets hit with enough counter punches he loses the round. If he loses enough rounds he loses the fight. You can believe GGG is in fear of Canelo's power if you want. I believe he speaks the truth and has no reason to lie about it. He has to face Canelo in the ring again so saying Canelo never hurt him won't make Canelo's punches any less powerful. Maybe we will get the KO ending both men have promised and we will see who is the hardest puncher with the best chin.

Walking around weight is a terrible way to try to tell how big a boxer really is because some boxers walk around fat as hell, some like Mayweather stay very lean and others are somewhere between. Fight night weight is a better way to tell how big a boxer really is. Canelo and GGG both weigh about 170 pounds on fight night give or take a pound. They are normal sized middleweights neither big nor small and their best fighting weight is almost exactly the same. Neither man has a weight advantage over the other.

I understand what you're saying. And you're right, people do hang on to what a fighter says..
Well we'll all get our answers on September 15th. It's a great fight that either fighter can win so i just hope we have a clear winner this time and none of that controversy scoring again.

I get what you're saying but I'm still gonna call bullshet on what Triple g said about Canelo's punches feeling like slaps.
We all can see that Canelo hits hard enough for his punches to hurt, even if he doesn't hit hard enough to knock someone out. They still hurt.
So Triple g can say what he wants but his face said otherwise.
That's all there is to it.
