Because I swear mature and knowledgeable historians have him universally top 5 all-time. Another universally acclaimed top 5 all-time, Harry Greb was KO'd within his first few fights. He did alright. Modern day legends Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez lost their debuts. Hopkins, aged 24 lost to a bum. Another fighter you've likely never heard of in Alexis Arguello was defeated twice within his first 4/5 fights and was soundly outpointed on his first title attempt.

These fighters are either hall of famers already or guaranteed first ballot and spent time ranked among the best of their respective generations.

Then again, Linares was competitive and Pedraza is physically bigger and will enjoy a five inch reach advantage. Not sure he is as good as even a slightly past it Jorge tho.
