A few weeks back, promoters Dan Goossen and Bob Arum of Top Rank held discussions on a possible middleweight bout between WBO/WBC champion Kelly Pavlik and multi-division contender Paul Williams.

No It was indeed Arum himself the 1st time. Maybe the second time it was Pavlik who pulled out

As I talked about in my Original Post, Arum will NEVER EVER do 50/50 Split having to open his books with another promoter. This is nothing new from Arum!

"I told Bob that I wasn't going to get into a situation where I thought, that based on Paul's recent win over Wright and Pavlik's recent loss to Hopkins - I wasn't going to sit there and put Pavlik at a smaller percentage. I told him that we would be willing to do the fight at 50-50, co-promotion and each side split it down the middle and Bob didn't want any part of it."
RIP to the Late Dan Goossen

Arum have no problem working with other promoters...as long as their completely submissive to him and they don't ask no other questions and are not trying to demand %

A interview a couple of months ago on Mikey Garcia vs Loma, once again LISTEN to what Arum is saying. Yeah he will do it as long as Mikey accepts whatever it is that he offers him...

tge problem is that this isn’t true. The books were open for Pac-JMM2, Pac-Hatton, Pavlik-Hopkins, and Pac-May.

Arum has opened the books on several occasions. Maybe it wasn’t worth it to him in this smaller fight. The second time they tried to make this fight it wasn’t a Pavlik who pulled out. This is when his personal demons were really starting to tAke effect.

U shoulda also recall that Arum also made a deal with Goosen for Pavlik rove the b side for Andre Ward with Goosen as the lead promoter. Ward pulled out of that fight with injury.

Kinda throws your theory out the window.

Just about every fight in the 80's.

Bob Arum stopped so many ****ing fights from happening because he had a monopoly on the WBA, the same way he owns the WBO today.

Same reason Pedraza and Sanchez never fought.

              Tell bob to SMD
