Comments Thread For: Sanchez Unfazed By Criticism of Golovkin's Title Defense Streak

If Gennady Golovkin leaves the ring September 15 with the WBA middleweight championship, he'll have broken Bernard Hopkins' record for consecutive 160-pound title defenses. The 36-year-old Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) tied Hopkins' record when he produced his 20th straight defense May 5 by knocking out Vanes Martirosyan in the second round. Hopkins made 20 consecutive defenses of the IBF middleweight title from 1996-2005.

Ill take Hopkins best wins anyday over GGG's. Hell Combine Jacobs and Canelo and still wont get a Trinidad. Even though he lost to Jones you could combine GGG, Canelo, Jacobs and that PRIME Jones STILL wins.

Is never fighting a rematch something to brag about. 1. You're about to fight a rematch. 2. The one time before Alvarez that he fought a top caliber fighter, he was heavily tested and refused to give a rematch.

Name one ATG who didn't fight a rematch? Most fought multiple. Its actually a sign that you're fighting the best fighters of your time.

How did HBO become the 2nd to Showtime, when I was younger HBO was the best Boxing channel by far always the big and best fights no it is some random fights have been showed between nobodies really shame.

GGG fights on HBO have all been against nobodies apart from Jacobs fights
