That's the funniest part, no one knows what happened to the Chavelo belt created for May 5 2017 since Canelo refused to fight for it.


GGG owns it.


Another funny story, Canelo said he'd fight for it so back in Feburary Suliaman had another special belt made for May 5th 2018. But guess Canelo ended up having other plans that day.


So now the next installment. Just another trinket for GGG's collection.

Sanctimoniously trying to preach about character while defending the WBC. The same organization that reinstated Roy Jones as champion after Graciano Rocchigiani won its belt. The same organization that sanctioned a world title bout between Erik Morales and Eddie Croft, who'd lost his last 5 of 6 with his only win in between being a split decision over a 7-8 journeyman. The same organization that made Bermane Stiverne as Deontay Wilder's mandatory challenger despite having previously lost to Wilder, being out of boxing for almost 2 years and being put on his ass by Derric Rossy of all people in his previous bout.
