If it's by a 1 punch KO, then not necessarily. Sometimes top fighters get caught cold or by surprise - it can happen.

However, if a top fighter gets outpointed/out hustled by a lower level guy, then that is inexcusable.
So what you're saying is, Winky made Tito a bum overnight.

When 2 men step in the ring anything can happen.

James Toney won a controversial decision over Tiberi many felt he lost.

Floyd won a controversial decision over Jose Luis Castillo in their first bout, a fight Jose Luis clearly won.

Sugar Ray Robinson lost to Carmen Basilio who would be slaughtered by most modern day welters.

A young Ricardo Mayorga steamrolled Vernon Forrest.

              Anything can happen in boxing.

Robert Villemain was far from a "low level" fighter!

"Carmen Basilio who would be slaughtered by most modern day welters".........................................hahahaha

Carmen would beat most welters in ANY era! Read up young man.

Well maybe Robert wasn't low level but how many people know who he is compared to Lamotta? I mean, Lamotta was not over the hill by any means and lost to Villemain who never accomplished half as much. So a great fighter can lose even in their primes and the opponent doesn't have to be Superman.

Basilio would slaughter any welterweight out there right now imo. Too tough and too much action. Carmen was a beast!

I knew who he was, I studied the history of the sport anyone could do it!
Of course lesser talents beat great fighters you can have great performances against better competition we're all human it happens. The greats can't be great 100% of the time.
