You've stopped his winning record anyway.
Some people do the basics so well that's all they need. That's all Ggg needed in first fughtComment

I respect that Canelo and his team are talking a big game, because they have to win this fight. It's more important to him than it is to Golovkin. His reputation is on the line. He's coming in with more pressure than Golovkin, and if he's willing to take beforehand, I can respect. If he gets destroyed, he'll look even worse though.Comment

I had it 8 4 but this^^^^. GGG is too late in his career to be getting robbed. Rob me early on. It's kind of like people want him to fail. I just really don't get it. Even if Canelo wins this one so what? GGG won the first one. He was robbed. You know he has the fear in his head that it will happen again. That's a lot of distractions with the Clen thing. Mental distractions mean a lot in boxing. I mean a draw(robbery) in boxing, you have to wait months to fix it. Basketball or Baseball, overtime(extra innings) will fix it. It just sucks for buddy, just saying.Comment

--------------------------Canelo is bigger and stronger than both cotto and maidana, why were they able to be more effective vs mayweather than Canelo? The answer is, they focused on using their strength and physicality. They didn't try to get all cute and pretend they were pernell Whitaker like Canelo did.
Cotto and Maidana were pretty effective in their style BUT bottomline is the both lost. Oscar tried that a little and he lost too.
So are you saying that by virtue of being bigger and stronger, Canelo would have beaten Floyd?
Canelo struggled against Lara and even Khan was impressive against him right before the exptected KO.
So I am asking you again, do you think Canelo would have beaten Floyd had he used his size and physical strength when he looked bad against Lara and Khan? Most important, Floyd was right in front of Canelo the whole fight so what could Canelo do different when he just couldn't do it when they fought?Comment

I don't think canelo was good enough to beat mayweather regardless. But my point was that based on the plan his trainers came up with, he had 0 chance to win or even be competitive. I think he could've been more effective had he been more aggressive and let his hands go but he was more passive than he should've been and was made to look foolish by trying to box vs the best boxer of this generation.--------------------------

yea good post.....
not replying to your questions but I will say one thing though....
something that the haters/casuals who call Mayweather a runner failed to notice..... which is yea, ironic
Floyd fought Cotto and Maidana(1) flat-footed..... just like he fought Mosley for the first two rounds..... we saw what happened to Maidana in the rematch when Floyd boxed him
Maidana was a flat-out cherry-pick..... he got selected off Broner's name, nothing more..... because chino had just been schooled by Devon Alexander
the smart guys noticed..... Maidana was supposed to be Floyd's Gatti at 147, he was supposed to be a made-to-order look-good opponent
and he fought Cotto the same way for the same reason..... he has heard all the criticism, about no ko's and cruising to easy decisons without taking any risks..... he respected Cotto but knew that he could beat him head on, and knew that it would likely be a great fight with that style
about Canelo, just my 2c..... good point about his gameplan/style for Mayweather..... but..... 1) it was too early for Canelo, Floyd's experience played a bigger part in that fight than any other factor..... incl weight/whatever..... 2) he wasn't good enough to beat Mayweather who put on a masterclass
but yea, good points and GREAT questions..... which I will graciously leave for others lolComment

I agree with that..... in part.....
but, don't for one second think that how that fight played out had nothing to do with the guy on the other side of the ring.....
for long periods in that fight Canelo was stuck on the outside missing wildly, just like all the others..... he did not choose to got out on his shield, but smart fighters who have fought Mayweather all said it is different when you get in there with him..... NOTHING works lol, you get frustrated, deflated, pretty much undressed
he has done that to a lot of really good fightersComment
