I'll give the guy credit. I didn't always agree with his boxing style, but he was a successful boxer and now seems to have found success after boxing. He's living the dream. Good luck to him.

He's pulling a Floyd. "Retire" until all the dangerous opponents fight one another, then come out of retirement after they've been eliminated or battle worn. Find the weakest link to a title.

Lol you are right we would be calling him that.

I didn’t always enjoy the way ward won but you can’t argue with results. The man was unbeaten his accomplishments are undeniable imo even if I do think kovalev narrowly won the first fight that’s not what the history books will say.

Yeah I like joe too but you are right it’s funny how both tend to be praised by one group of fans and not the other.

It’s true. Someone pointed out earlier that it’s rare you find someone who likes both fighters it tends to be one or the other.

Calzaghe did what he needed to do and that's it. He's not a all time great. I am a fan of the sweet science and I will not take anything away from him but I do not hold him in high regard. Can't hate on a man that retired undefeated.

Ward has very very few fans to begin with regardless of nationality or skin complexion. His personality is like a wet rag. Boy that man can box though.

I am not going to lie Joe is not a big name in the states. But I can tell you growing up Kostya was popular, Ricky was popular and I am a fan of Frampton and Fury. Personality beats race or nationality for me.

Now for other Americans I can see your point. It's case by case. Everybody loved Sugar Ray Leonard. Everybody loved Floyd Patterson and Ken Norton. But white ppl hated Ali, Liston, Johnson and sometimes Floyd with a passion.
