You never believe these fighters anymore when they retire early. They can’t seem to stay away. I can only think of 2 fighters currently in the Hall of Fame who left at the right time on top as champions and NEVER returned, Marciano & Lennox Lewis.

It will be 4, IF Ward & Floyd can stay away for good. Although Floyd didn’t have a belt when he fought McGregor, most people would agree he was still at the top of many P4P lists.

Rid**** Bowe left after beating Andrew Golota but then came back 8 years later for money. Aaron Pryor got beat by a guy named Bobby Joe Young 4 years after those 2 great wins against Alexis Arguello. The only other person would be Marvin Hagler who left after the split decision lost to Leonard. He wasn’t a champion after the lost but still retired as a fighter at the top of his division. Can anyone think of any other HOF fighter that retired possibly too early?

Sometimes I wish andre ward was English so he would get the plaudits he deserves. We would’ve hyped him up good and proper. There would be an Andre Ward day by now.

I can’t help but think that ward was a few fights away from being an all time great. He retired too early for me there were still good fights out there for him
