Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis Backs Fury To Rise To The Occasion With Wilder

If Wilder catches him like that, someone in the crowd is catching Fury's head to take home as a souvenir.

Misleading title. Lewis did not explicitly say he backs Fury to win.
He merely said he was impressed by Fury's performance against
Klitschko, and that Fury seems like the type of fighter who can
rise to the occasion for big fights.
Translation: Fury didn't look great in his comeback wins, but he
can probably find a way to make the Wilder fight competitive.

to hone specific skills, rather than trying to be a
'jack of all trades' but a master of none.
Wilder has some attributes that can be considered
exceptional. Fury is a big man who does a lot of
things fairly well, but he does not do anything
exceptionally well. If Wilder was 5-inches shorter
he would have the same athletic prowess & power.
If Fury was 5 inches shorter he would be hard-pressed
to beat mediocre heavyweights because his sheer
size advantage would be gone.

I expect him to rise to the occasion also Lennox. Joshua's fans are going the simple "doubt" route. Fury has the style to beat Wilder. He as the style to beat any heavy, but he still has to walk through fire to win. Wilder isn't body puncher. Fury just has to guard the head and make sure that he isn't caught off balance or when he's throwing. I want to see how Wilder adjusts to a fighter like Fury.
