He was never going to sign that contract. Not for this year, next year, or any other damned year.
You're lying. He would have signed in a heartbeat if the fight was next. He had every intention of fighting for the flat fee as long as the fight was next. You're literally just making things up.

      Right back at you, mug.

What you are saying is that Hearn lied to Haymon, Finkel, Wilder, Ryabinski, the WBA, and the media, when he told them all he'd that he'd sent Deontay a contract for a fight with AJ this year.

And that he kept them all hanging around, wasting their time and money, for over a month, on the basis of that lie.

Do you really believe that a man in Hearn's position would be ****** enough to think he could pull a stunt like that and get away with it?

Hearn is a promoter. He lies to everybody. That's his job.

In this particular instance, WOB knew a unification would be approved over a mandatory, so they didn't push the issue. Hearn was honest with WOB that they were likely next, but that he was simultaneously negotiating with Wilder. That gave him leverage with WOB to agree to a voluntary deal if they wanted the fight next.

There was no need to lie to the WBA. The WBA would have approved unification in a heartbeat. The WBA knew Hearn was simultaneously negotiating two different fights to maximize leverage with both camps to get the best deal possible for his fighter.

Hearn never told anybody he sent Deontay a contract guaranteeing the fight would be this year. Hearn admitted publicly the contract didn't guarantee that.

          .
          Lol .. semantics again?

Hearn told everybody concerned that he'd sent Wilder a contract for a fight in October or November this year. Why else would the WBA have given him 7 extensions to the original 30 day deadline to finalise their mando?

A promoter's job is to tell blatant and barefaced lies to sanctioning organisations, fighters, managers, prospective venues, TV networks, and other promoters?

            Really?

Yes. Semantics. Hearn's semantics. Don't blame me for Hearn's semantics. He was very very careful with his wording. Sorry that you got fooled.

How do you know they gave him 7 extensions? Because he said so on IFL? The extensions are irrelevant. Everybody was on the same page. Wilder before Povetkin if Hearn decided to choose Wilder. Povetkin next if Hearn didn't pick Povetkin. As soon as a deal was struck and Wilder was ready to sign, suddenly, magically, AJ had 24 hours to sign to fight Povetkin or get stripped (according to Hearn). A week later, Povetkin admitted the fight still wasn't signed.

You got played for a fool. Sorry.

Yes of course! This is boxing. Everybody lies to everybody. Standard procedure. Did you start watching boxing recently or something?

Not "according to Hearn" ... according to the WBA themselves.

And he wasn't told he had to get the fight signed in 24 hours, he was told to give them the date on which it would happen.

What he was told and what he claimed he was told are two different things. Again, you're not finding my contradictions, you're finding Hearn's contradictions.

If they didn't give the WBA a date, the worst thing that happens is the WBA starts working on setting up a purse bid. Giving plenty of time for Wilder to sign on Friday. No matter how you spin it, there was time. Hearn simply didn't want the fight.
