Is Terrance Crawford the Lineal ww champ?

They said Manny was lineal when he beat Bradley, he said he retied but fought 7 months later beating Vargas, then lost to Horn and Crawford beat Horn..So isnt Crawford now the lineal champ?

The winner of Mayweather vs Pacquiao was more than the welterweight champion. He was the best boxer of our era. So.. I'm not sure how Manny won it from Bradley.
      Here you go,

No, Pacquiao retired and the lineal title has been vacant ever since.

Same goes for Fury and the heavyweight title, despite what people keep saying.

If you retire or leave the weight class for too long, you vacate the lineal title.

The lineal fight at welterweight right now would be Crawford vs Spence, since Thurman is still MIA.

There is a case to be made for that. But this is the flaw with the "lineal" title. Mayweather retired with it so it is murky to say the least. Bradley and Pacquiao were top 3 WWs when they faced off so I can see why their fight was for the lineal title. But…….

Well if you believe that Fury is lineal Heavyweight champ then yes.

I'm not an expert so I did search it.

To be Lineal Champ (post-Ring listing), a boxer should either:

              1) BE THE MAN IN THE DIVISION - which I understand as unifying the belts

ex. Vlad after Lewis retired became Lineal Champ eventhough he didnt fight Lewis

              2) BEAT THE MAN IN THE DIVISION - self explanatory.

ex. Fury beat Vlad, therefore is considered the lineal champ

But here's where it becomes unclear to me. Does lineal championship carry over to winner, over and over....

ex. if Wilder beats Fury, will be the lineal champ?

MY OPINION: I dont think that is the case unless Wilder unifies and solidifies his position as No. 1 in HW. It is only passes over to a winner once, i.e. if the current lineal champ is beaten, the title goes to the winner.

There must have been a reason it wasn't for the Ring belt perhaps because Keith Thurman had emerged by then. IDK.

No, Pacquiao retired. Fury's claim to lineal rests in the fact that his social media "retirements" were farces. His Twitter retirement was rescinded within hours and he implied he was just having a piss, his Instagram retirement was a cryptic message that was later deleted.
