While Joshua was initially skeptical of the high offer, Hearn confirmed that it's legitimate and the money is there.

Even with $50 million on the table, Joshua is willing to make less money in order to face Wilder in the UK.

If Wilder wins, then Joshua is willing to make the rematch in the United States.

"It's the general opinion of myself, AJ and Rob McCracken [Joshua's trainer] that because of the status of AJ in the fight and what we've built over here in the U.K. that we should try and get it over here because he has earned the right for that fight over here," Hearn told Nick Parkinson.

"If Wilder wins, the rematch can be over there in America. We are going back and forth with talks at the moment and I'm confident we can make that fight. AJ appreciates he might not make as much money by fighting in the U.K. but realises that Wilder should be coming to the U.K. to fight first."

Joshua has grown accustomed to having massive crowds at his events, which recently range from 76-90,000 fans packing a stadium
Okay so you think calling me a fanboy is refuting anything that I have said? When the insults start flying that's just another form of the white flag waving. I've been over this a million times with every irrational rabid dog on here but of course all of y'all just play ignorant and reset your opinions from the beginning.
Maybe Deontay Wilder does have $50,000,000. But the only reason he offered it was to use the negotiations to elevate his perceived status in the sport. Just the notion alone that Deontay Wilder is going to figure out a way to be the one calling the shots and controlling the promotion of the event because he can pay for it instead of him being the more popular entertainer is some publicity stunt shît. You know it and so does everybody else. But of course you will continue to bring it up because it's a petty come back to any criticism fans may level upon Deontay Wilder and the way he and his team decided to deal with these negotiations.

AJ was offered 50mil and hearn talked him into turning it down, that's the bottom line... the only reason he offered it is because AJ ASKED FOR IT... I understand you are going to try to defend this guy and hearn at all cost but at some point you have to swallow your pride... its okay brother.

Because beating Wilder and unifying the entire heavyweight division would make him an even bigger star than he already is. Every single fight he takes for the rest of his career would be bigger if he beat Wilder.

He'd be the undisputed heavyweight champion -- the first since Lennox Lewis and only the third undisputed champion in any weight class since Jermain Taylor.

If he thinks he can beat Wilder and doesn't take the fight, that's even worse business than taking a risky fight. It's only good business to avoid Wilder if he thinks he will lose.
I agree. Wilder agreed to a pretty BS deal after giving Joshua a damned good one ($80M 2-fight deal with back end vs. $15M flat), and couldn't even get a date on the contract lol. As far as I'm concerned, Joshua's team is afraid of the fight, and for good reasons.

Wilder is HIGHLY unpredictable with his punching (he really does only windmill when he smells blood), has above average stamina, world class chin (IMO, after standing up to Ortiz) and maintains his satanic power into the late rounds. His lack of skill is a double-edged sword, but one side sure is sharper than the other lol.

Team Joshua is looking at this risk assessment, vs Joshua's youth, vs Joshua's current earning power, and vs Joshua's actual chance to win (which I think is high, but you just never know with aptly named Wilder), and saying that it can wait. If the duck does hurt Joshua's marketability, or he just can't find an opponent that will bring in the money he wants, then you'll see a Wilder fight. Until then he can fight mid to high ranked contenders for easy millions. Makes for crappy boxing, but shows that Joshua has surrounded himself with shrewd businessmen, who know how to slowly and lucratively build a brand.

Deontay Wilder sent Anthony Joshua an email claiming to have 50 million dollars. And he sent the email in because he saw Anthony Joshua's interview and used it as an opportunity to stage a publicity stunt. Then he went straight to instagram to make an offer to the public. Then his manager sent a letter to all of the boxing media outlets. And this is not about defending Anthony Joshua. It's about defending the truth. I'm a black American. Ive been rocking with Deontay Wilder long before I ever heard of Anthony Joshua. I just don't like people who will do or say anything to get their way. And the kind of evil that goes unchecked because of the same kind of use of the media to deceive the public is one of the reasons the world and society are so slow to evolve. Deontay Wilder used a technicality to make a statement to the media about Anthony Joshua's signature not being on a contract. That's petty deception. Are you really so naive to believe that is the only time throughout this process that he has intentionally tried to deceive the public? I'm sure you're going to ignore the parts of my comment that you don't have an argument against. I'll accept that as your surrender. Lol.

Joshua never wanted the fight. We knew that already Frank. But thanks for enlightening the fans.

****en liar, lmao. And you have no “parts of your argument” at all. You’re a Joshua fan trying to use the age ole “I liked this fighter before I even heard of this fighter” reverse psychology. One thing that I’ve known my whole life about fight fans is, is that fans rarely stop being fans of fighters that they like-ever.

First of all Deontay Wilder has zero credibility. The man is a known bold faced liar. He is always trying to use the media to create a narrative and he likes publicity stunts. I'm not listening to anything you have to say until you can accept those FACTS. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR SALES PITCH BRUH! Deontay Wilder will say anything. And I know that's part of the reason a lot of people like him. Being a liar comes with being willing to say anything.
