Please stop validating defenses of the WBA "regular" title.

Golovkin wasn't even the real WBA middleweight "super" champion during that time.

You personally don't have to validate any belt. Thats up to you , a lot of ppl still don't respect their WBO let alone the IBO. I personally don't give a f about any belt besides the lineal belt or a undisputed champion.

Hopefully you can bring your delusional fangirls some Christmas joy when they see you get lit up like a Christmas tree by Canelo

I wouldn’t be too concerned if I were Hopkins because his title reign was more legit based on the caliber of fighters he defended his title against. Its sorta like comparing Mayweather undefeated record to the strawweight fighter, Menayothin. Or saying Oscar only likes to dress up in “men’s clothing.”

GGG initially won the vacant title against a guy no one will remember in boxing history, Milton Nunez. And the names “routine boxing fans” may recognize in his defenses are Matthew Macklin, Curtis Stevens, Daniel Geale, Marco Antonio Rubio, Martin Murray, David Lemieux, Willie Monroe Jr., Dominic Wade, Kell Brook, Daniel Jacobs, & Canelo.

Bernard Hopkins initially won his title against Segundo Mercado, a guy people may not remember also other than he dropped Hopkins “twice” in the 1st fight. But Hopkins has title defenses against these names. John David Jackson, Glen Johnson, Simon Brown, Keith Holmes, Felix Trinidad, Carl Daniels, Antwun Echols, Robert Allen, William Joppy, Howard Eastman, & Oscar De La Hoya.

If we are comparing both middleweight title defensive reigns, Hopkins beat (3) HOF fighters, more impressive.

                    1. The “draw” with Alvarez should count as a title defense because he kept the belts. For some reason that doesn’t count. YET...

                    2. Hopkins had a no contest vs. Robert Allen which should NOT count as a defense but they count it for some reason.

Count the wins and you have 19 plus the no contest which actually also stops the streak. Someone please explain.
The system is broken. We gotta blow it up and start again.

Other than fighting into an advanced age, the title defense streak is pretty much all Hopkins has to hinge his legacy upon.
