I'm Convinced that there is nothing that Canelo could do that would turn off his groupie fan base. They defended some of the worst scorecards in boxing history, defended him giving up his belt to avoid his mandatory, defended his positive ped tests, close to 2 mil of them paid $ to see farce match ups against khan, Smith and Chavez jr, defended 3-4 years of catch weight fights, etc. They will never hold him accountable but despite their unconditional love, if ggg demolishes a clean version of Canelo, his legacy within those that matter in the boxing community will be tarnished forever. Much like margaritos was.Well s**t considering Margarito still had a fan base even after getting busted with illegal wraps...and taking one look around this place at all of the apologists like it's the meats fault and not the professional athletes fault says everything about why they aren't worried. Mexico has produced some f**king amazing fighters, some of my personal favorite athletes but that was under a different generation of fans who held their fighters fully responsible and accountable. If everyone else can hold their fighters accountable for their transgressions so should you.Comment

Seeing a lot of folk talking about Canelo's superior skills and slickness - which is understandable as in the first contest Canelo refused to really engage and focused on keeping out of the way - stepping forward only in short flurries. The thing is this. It wasn't slick skills that saw him win versus Khan. Canelo was being out boxed comprehensively by GGG in that match.Comment

These are not boxing fans, these are fans of individuals and not of the sport. These same people with the shoe on the other foot would've been still trying to get Golovkin crucified and yet they don't see the error of their hipocrisy. I liked Ortiz, he came up positive, he was dead to me. I liked Mosley he came linked to roids, he was dead to me. I was a super RJJ fan and then that scandal broke, I stopped f'ing with him...and that' was the first guy I ever saw fight live and I was a kid so that was my guy..the guy for me in boxing that made me a full on fan of the sport. People need to realize the sport doesn't live off one name, this guy will retire and the next one will come along so are you leaving with the guy or staying for the sport. If its the latter then hold that mofo' accountable as you would any other fighter. When Pacquaio was being labeled the mexicutioner he was on roids and ***** according to many, yet when this guy gets caught with something in his system its a mistake because well you know it's not an outright PED or there is a meat issue. Like they would've been ok with that had Pacquaio tried that excuse had be popped for Clen.I'm Convinced that there is nothing that Canelo could do that would turn off his groupie fan base.
