i'v been looking at many of his fights for a few hours forwarding and slowing down some of his fights, trying to decide which footage to use, and all i can think of is how in the hell can anyone think Duran is over-rated? He truly is not a student of boxing. The man fought everybody and did things in boxing that we will not be seeing anytime soon by any other boxer, we will probably never have another Roberto Duran, very sad but probably true.

im a bet you havn't seen many of his fights and if you have all you did was glance through them and already made up your mind before even watching his fights. But i ain't mad at you, i know Roberto Duran was an all-time great boxer, and no one better then him at 135 - edit, Julio Cesar Chavez would give him a run for his money in one hell of a war where either can win.

I agree completely. If you don't consider Roberto Duran or JCC all-time greats, you just don't understand boxing, or is extremely biased.

Though JCC is a bit unproven at 135... his best win at 135 is Rosario... that I know of. I'm sure he would've been great regardless if he haven't moved up or not. What a talent.

                well obviously...

duran gets a bad rep for about...3 fights. laing, leonard and hearns.

oddly enough people seem to forget his first performance against leonard at the same time. kind of like pacquiao fans with morales. they only remember the second fight...

duran should be remembered for his fights with dejesus, leonard1, hagler, cuevas, buchanan, barkley, moore, etc

Seriously dude. You need to learn a little about Duran.
His story is ****ing brilliant. He is in most smart boxing fan's top ten p4p of all time. He's certainly in mine.
If you want to watch a fighter who lived in the trenches and truly loved the game, check him out. Just look at his record.
Duran is what boxing is all about.

Or like how Castillo fans only remember the first PBF fight
