Naseem Hamed won a European Championship silver medal at schoolboy level in 1986, he was apparently robbed in the final. Then he got robbed two years in a row at trials for the national team because the 'powers that be' didn't agree with his fighting style. Hamed lost fair and square though to Dean Pithie at the 1989 national's, and that was his last loss before Barerra. In 1990 he won the NABC title, the junior ABA title, and junior Four Nations (in Belfast against Damaen Kelly). In 1992 he came back as a more powerful kid (he was never known as a KO puncher before this) and won the junior ABA title with straight KO's, including a 30-second KO of Michael Brodie in the final.

    Hamed..
    1985 National Schoolboy champ
    1986 National Schoolboy champ
    1986 European Silver
    1987 National Schoolboy champ
    1988 National Schoolboy champ
    1989 National Schoolboy finalist
    1989/90 NABC Class A champ
    1990 National Schoolboy champ
    1990 Junior ABA champ
    1990 Junior Four Nations champ
    1992 Junior ABA champ

LOL LISTEN!! LOL I want you all to listen VERY carefuly.... ESPECIALLY back in the Kid Chocolate days amateur records were NOT kept very accurately. There were no computers etc. Don't you think it is possible that kid Chocolate as a kid could have fought several amateur fights and lost. Fights that had 40 people in the audience in some little town when the Kid was not known at all? I mean, I am not sure how well versed some of you are in amateur boxing but some ofthese records you are throwing out there are just plain unrealistic. Tommy Morrison didnt have that many amateur fights, I AM TELLING YOU. I was a national level amateur and I never even heard of Tommy until the first half of 1988 just a few months before he went professional. He wasnt at the national tournaments and I know this because I have allthe results from the national tournaments each year from that time period and his name is nowhere to be found. There are not 250 amateur heavyweights in his part of the country OK? This is not hard to figure. Also do not go by these websites that JuyJuy is throwing up because they do not keep the records, they report what is reported to them. I can look at many of these guys records and point to examples of fights they had that are not onthere. Also, many times when an amateur record is reported it is simply a case of a reporter asking the guy what his record is and the guy can answer anyway he chooses. I have been present in the same room when guys have been asked and they out and out LIE to the reporter about their record. Trust me on this

I know that Michael Dokes, on his way to a 147-7 record, beat Big John Tate and Greg Page in the 1976 National Golden Gloves. Also, Jackie Beard beat Rocky Lockridge for the 1978 Golden Glove title.

Morrison was a very active amateur for six years as a kid, then he came back like six years later.

Most of Morrison's amateur fights would of been when he was a little kid.

That site is official, they don't post any old bull**** up. They check with record keepers.

Like Iran Barkley, you were saying all that **** that you couldn't find his name at the Olympic Trails or the Top 10 ratings but the fact is he went to the world championships and got a bronze. He turned pro in 1982, anyway, wasn't around in 1984.

It was abit strange, though, because Naz was actually always seen as being feather-fisted from 85 to 90 (like Herol Graham), but then suddenly 1992 was on the scene and he was mouthing off that Allah had blessed him with power and started knocking everybody out!
