The Sergiy Derevyanchenko-Daniel Jacobs fight appears headed to a different date and site. BoxingScene.com has learned negotiations are nearing completion for the Derevyanchenko-Jacobs bout to take place October 27 in The Theater at Madison Square Garden. October 27 was a potential date when promoters Eddie Hearn (Jacobs) and Lou DiBella (Derevyanchenko) reached an agreement moments before this IBF-mandated middleweight championship match went to purse bid July 10.

Whoever thinks this is an easy fight for Jacobs is sadly mistaken. This guy Derevianchenko is known for his excellent technique and his handspeed. And he packs a punch too. He not only drops his opponents during fights but he puts them away. Granted he hasn’t really fought anyone in the pros yet but he has a decent amateur background. Jacobs better come into this fight 100% focused or else.
