I mean not like Hearn didn't bid $1.55 million for this fight himself.

Make no mistake though, this is a bad look for Hearn. His bid for the fight was fine, but he hardly has any American fighters signed, and one of his champion will be fighting on another network. Hearn needs as many quality fights as possible for DAZN. Only problem for him is so does ESPN, so Arum bid a bigger for it and got it.

If he won it with a $1.5mil bid, people would be ripping him for paying so much for a fight noone cares about. He cant win with a lot of people. Hooker aint gunna be complaining, Hearn indirectly got him a career high pay day, something he wouldnt of come close with not signing with Hearn.

Lets see what Hearn can come up with for the Saunders/Andrade undercard, dare say he could come up with something a lot better for the purse bid he was going to spend

Arum has connections, he probably has his people everywhere and knew that Hearn wouldnt go over 1.6 Mill, still extremely high paydays for both fighters.

Competition is great for boxing. Arum stepping up, boxers get paid more when there is healthy competition.

Those purse bids are kinda shady. You know there are tip offs. Remember the Loma vs Russell purse bid? It was obvious.

Staggering that people are celebrating. Anyways this was like when everyone was hating on PBC. This is great for the boxers.

He's going to have to overpay for fights and fighters period. Even he admitted that. This is a start up streaming service in the states that no one knows about, how else is he going to get fighters without offering them a fortune or winning purse bids with crazy offers? As for Hooker getting a career payday? Absolutely, but he only gets about $52,500 more with the TR offer and the fight gets aired on ESPN instead of DAZN. Hooker was set to make pretty much the same amount of money from Hearn's bid.

He could come up with something a lot better? Well, he would need to sign more fighters to make that happen. Doesn't really have anyone in his US stable to provide a better fight for the UC.

Eddie runs his mouth and loses.

Wait till Dazn hits him with breach of contract. Matchroom will bankrupt. Dazn is not happy that Eddie has not come thru on what was promised.

$1.5mil is overpaying a lot for this fight. Where do you stop, probably felt extremely confident with his bid. We need to do a poll before a purse bid. People saying hes being tight with the DAZN money would have guessed it would get nowhere near what the winning bid was.
