The sparring footage doesn't mean anything because Paulie was past his prime in the first place, and not in training for a fight like McGregor was. What matters is that Conor got KTFO in his pro debut and he needs to head back to the UFC where he can compete at elite levels.

I don't believe that Floyd carried him but that he knew Conor would be a massive front runner and that's why he was smirking in the early part of the fight. I suspect the fight went exactly like Floyd expected including that Conor would land a couple shots on him.
