    This. Short and sweet.

Look lateral movement in the usyk last fight. When Canelo did the lateral movement he also retreated one or two steps back(almost everytime). Maybe thats the difference in the "lateral movement" people see and think thats too much "running"

But you forgot to mention that at the same time Usyk was waaay more active than Canelo, he threw 80 punches a round against Gassiev. Plus don't forget Canelo was fighting at middleweight and Usyk is a huge cruiser, and in smaller weight classes their punch output is way bigger on average than in cruiserweight and heavyweight.

How the f are you going to run backwards and retreat from another man??!?!
It’s funny because Canelo actually backed up GGG several times during the fight. So by your logic, GGG should’ve stood his ground instead of backing up and resetting. In that case, most fights would be brawls in which the bigger and more powerful person always wins.

We watch boxing to see two different styles match up. Of course we invest in a fighters personality, but for the most part, we want to see how a fighter can balance their disadvantages with their advantages. How does a smaller less powerful fighter win a fight against a bigger man. You don’t stay in front of them and **** away. Stop watching boxing if you think boxing is all about being a macho man and ****ing in the middle of the ring. Just start watching YouTube bar fights if that’s what you’re looking for.

Boxing is a thinking mans sport. That’s why we watch. Everyone on this forum knows that if Canelo didn’t use his legs and the space in the ring, he would be on his back early.

yes he should have but he acted like a coward and lost millions of fans. i refuse to drive in reverse because its cowardly. i just put it in neutral and pick up and move my car so it faces forward like a man.
