I don’t think you read my post or didn’t understand. Wilder and AJ are Kings if the division. All other boxer BOTH HAVE FOUGHT are no names, they’re garbage and wouldn’t beat a top 20 opponent in the Foreman, Holmes era. Nor would the garbage cans in the HW division beat a top 20 during Holyfield/Tyson era. Aside from AJ and Wilder as I said the HWs today are overweight sloths. Face it the HW division is weakest its been in over 80 years

Short clip of Shavers flooring Holmes. Holmes is lucky it wasn't stopped.

          Wilder .

Shavers is also the only top HW of an era whos resume is worse then Wilders in 40 fight comparison ! His best win was Elmo Henderson in his 34th fight . Even Wilder has that beat . lol

He actually waited until his 45th fight to fight a relevant fight J .Young .

Shavers would have about a 20 % chance at Frazier only bc he could punch .

Shavers wouldn't see the 3rd rnd against Foreman ,his chin wouldn't hold up to a puncher like that .

Shavers built his reputation on hearsay and knocking out over matched guys ,with no social media era he was the boogeyman for a long time thats why both Frazier and Foreman avoided him in certain time span but when you ACTUALLY look at his record did he actually want legit fights to set them up when he could have ?

It was not until the mid 70's he fought better competition and he got knocked out by the first puncher he faced , Quarry .

After 10 years of fighting tomato cans and his entire country turning its back on him, he has no choice but chase the killers in the division. It’s not a dig( well just a bit) just a dispassionate observation✌🏿

On June 18, '73, I had a first row seat at Madison Square Garden and witnessed Shavers obliterate Jimmy Ellis with the mightiest right uppercut I'd ever seen. Unforgettable Heavyweight moment.

Three years and seven months into his boxing career, Earnie Shavers fought and knocked out Jimmy Ellis in round one. Now remember, Shavers did not start boxing until he was 24, and the Ellis bout was Earnie's 46th, however, this fight was fairly early (time wise) in Shaver's career, and if you check Shaver's opponents over the next five years, he fought: Quarry, Young, Lyle, Ali, Holmes, Norton, and Holmes a second time.

Jimmy Ellis wasnt even 200 pounds and was at the tail end of his career ,he won 2 fights out of 7 after Shavers and retired .Lets not get carried away and start once again turning past timers into superman if were using the same measuring stick as today .

The key factor in your post is 46th fight in which he started fighting top guys ........just about all he lost to .

Is age a legit excuse when someone starts boxing ? Yea but you cant ignore what their record actually is !
