Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury is Seizing What He Believes is His Rightful Place

By Michael Rosenthal - Tyson Fury has never done anything in a conventional manner. If I were advising the former heavyweight champ, I would suggest he ease back into high-level boxing after his 2-year hiatus from the sport. If I were Fury, who faces journeyman Francesco Pianeta on August 18 in his second fight since the layoff, I wouldn't take on a top heavyweight until next year at the earliest...

If he feels he’s ready then he should do it.

Most will respect this decision from Fury. Wilder will get trashed by his haters, as always.

As for me? I see this as a no-win for Wilder who will be fighting a tub of goo who is a shell of his overrated self, and a ego driven decision from Fury who knows he will never get the Joshua bout before he loses. I just can't get excited or interested in it at all except as a side show of top level trash talk leading up to the fight. Sweet mother, I would pay to watch the sit-down face-to-face conversations between these two.

Fury is currently the same weight as when he fought Chisora. Lets not forget this is a guy used to ballooning between fights and cutting weight in camp.... by the time he fights Wilder he will 100% be in fighting shape and around the same as he was for Klitschko.... you obviously haven't been following his training footage if you still think he is a tub of goo. He's looking good already and will go into the Wilder camp in the best shape he has EVER been in going into a camp.

That's a lie, Fury wasn't 276 when he fought Chisora, stick to the facts. Also he was 26 back then, young man who carry weight better. Fury did bad things to himself and we will only see if it's reversible once he steps in the ring with top opponent. Until then you just guessing and living in fairyland.

Had the fight even been 100% confirmed yet??? They are really taking their time...it’s been like 2 weeks...so much for quick work by Warren and Finkel.
