I was listening to Espinoza on a podcast this week and he brought up that point, he didn’t understand why DAZn would hire a promoter who will fill the dates with his stable and not someone like a Espinoza or Nelson type who can work with all promotional companies to purchase fights

I gotta agree with Espinoza on that point, With Hearn controlling Dazn he’s going to look after himself first and if he can’t ( which at this point seems to be the case ) attract elite fighters in big fights, DAZN isn’t going to gain any traction

If they hired someone who had the ability to work with and purchase fights from all the different promoters it probably have a better chance of success

The same reason why Haymon and Espinoza work so well together, or why ESPN paid to lock up the next 6 years of Top Rank; DAZN wanted to be in boxing, and needed a way to try and guarantee that they get a certain number of and quality of fights.

Eddie Hearn oversold and under delivered
