They should go ahead with the plan & put Alvarez in Vs. Bivol (Instead of Kovalev)

Alvarez-Bivol, Kovalev-Jack double header, winners fight.

Kovalev rematch or Bivol sounds good
He was never mentally shot, and his decline started with Chilemba, not Ward. He's been physically shot since Chilemba, at least after the 3rd or 4th round. At his best he was Krusher. Now he's (mostly, not fully) Krusher for 3 rounds, then a sitting duck for the next 9. Not a recipe for success.

Nice matchmaking! Add in Stevenson vs Gvozdk and it’s an all out tourney!

Not sure why Alvarez mentioned WBC champion Adonis Stevenson who refused to give Alvarez a mandatory shot for over two years. Is he going to be more willing to fight him after seeing him drop & finish Sergey. Don’t think so.

Kov or Bivol IMO. I wouldn't give Stevenson the luxury of a massive payday since he continually wouldn't fight him.

That said, I believe Stevenson in Canada would be the biggest payday and Alvarez is 34 so maybe he takes that fight for purely financial reasons, which I understand.

Bivol and Kovalev are no match for Alvarez. I would like to see Alvarez fight Stevenson, though. That could be an interesting fight.

Bivol would be the only option for a 2018 unification fight... Beterbiev will be busy annihilating Johnson and you'll see Stevenson sign for the Gvozdyk Fight ASAP so he can avoid the Alvarez talks...

not so fast. he could just as easily lose against either one of those guys. bivol beats him for sure and kovalev was winning the fight before that shot plus alvarez is 34 years he's not a young fighter.

alvarez has no choice in who he fights. kathy duva has an option on him kovalev also has a rematch clause.
