cannot stand kellerman at all now, especially the way he talks. That video of Dibella shutting him down is one the best most satisfying feelings ever.

The HBO crew definitely follow a narrative. They didn't mention anything Chilemba was doing in the first half of the fight. Then when they finally stopped being biased they were acting like Chilemba came in the fight as a HW. They made seem like Bivol couldn't knock him because of height, weight, and even Roy Jones in the corner.

The Kovalev commentary was all over the place. It seemed like they kinda thought Alvarez could win the fight so they hyped him up at first. Then when Kovalev had a good round they immediately jumped on his nuts. Kellerman sounded like a HS cheerleader after the stoppage.

          Lol for real.

"Alvarez scored what was essentially a one punch knockout tonight..."

...yeah except Kovalev got up off the canvas twice

Btw, you’re dead on with the fight itself as well. I thought it was clear as day. Nevertheless, deapite my mastery of tuning the four out, my brain was scrambling when they all began switching narratives (and not all in the same direction).
I've heard some say that Alvarez was breaking him down. Kov's work was ugly, but when was Alvarez doing that? When he looked wobbled in (ISTR) the fourth, or when Kov was unloading on him in (ISTR) the fifth?

He's a slick boxer, but it's hard to keep up against that pressure.

What gets me is when they decide early on which narrative they want to take the fight in, then can't change up as the fight progresses. There was a lot of debate about what happened in the Kovalev bout... some say Kov was dominating and got caught, some say Alvarez outclassed him and stopped him, others say it was competitive.

FWIW, I had it a close fight, with Kov shading it after six. Not through superior boxing, but just bulling his way into it with a good chin and heavy punches. Alvarez seemed to befuddle him and outspeed him for the first two rounds, but then he started to get into it.

But Max, being Max, has got it into his head that he's not in the fight after the first two, so, even when Kovalev's landing punches (and Alvarez taking them flush and asking for more was impressive, but doesn't give him rounds) Max is still there going "KovAlev looks CONFUSED in there tonight, JIM, look at the WAY in which he's NOT doing ANYTHING at ALL."

Harold's usually the most bearable one, as, while his balls have still yet to drop at the grand old age of 78, you only have to listen to the cunt every three rounds. But what was his scoring about? When I said earlier "some say Kov was dominating and got caught" you might think "bull****, no they didn't"... but then you've clearly forgotten about our Harold.

"OKAY JIM! Jim, da way Kovalev's trudging forward wid his hands down, getting hit repeatedly in the face and landing nuthin'... you gotta give him all the rounds as he's da aggressor - YOU JUST GOTTA! Six rounds ta nuthin', Sergei Kovalev.......................... JIM!"

But talking of twisted narratives, what really gave me the shits is when Royston "Roy" Jones Jr. tried that "I told you so" BS at the end. He said Kov didn't look good in the first couple of rounds, but then from about rounds 3-6 he was saying he was well into the fight. Then he gets stopped in the seventh and Roy's pretending he's not surprised.

"It's like I said in the first couple of rounds, Max, Sergei done gone do how he do, and that's how done gone do."

It also pisses me off when they ask Roy if a fight should be stopped or not. How the fuck would he know? He'd be on the canvas with a blanket for three fucking days if he took those shots. "They need to stop this one, Jim, he just got grazed with a jab and if that was me I'd be getting an oxygen mask right now."

Still, better than they usually are...

Max has become an insufferable wind bag. Lamps is just still going through hormonal therapy that causes emotional distress along with uncontrollable crying and menstrual pains. Roy is just a dummy and Harold is just 86 with bad eyes and a hard on for anyone who uses his 2 legs to come forward in a fight.

That was a very accurate version of the actual fight and the way the commentators conducted themselves in my opinion. Max got in a rut and gave rounds to Alvarez that were clearly Kovalev rounds. Kovalev looked like he was on his way to win probably by KO with his bullying hard punching tactics working pretty well. The knocked down of Kovalev with that monster punch came as a shocking surprise to me. Alavarez's great job of finishing Kovalev also surprised and impressed me. Most people who now say they knew the 5 to 1 betting underdog was going to win are probably lying.Hindsight is always perfect and Roy Jones is never wrong after the fight is over.

Unless he's saying stuff like "Glen Johnson doesn't hit that hard."

Here's an old routine, remember this, back in the day?

ROUND ONE - That's where the drama starts.
ROUND TWO - Fuck it, I'll just let you easily UD me after that, shall I? I'm shot to shit.
