Muhammad Ali rolled out of his bed to get his ass whooped by Larry Holmes for $8 million (adj. for inflation $24 million). Anthony Joshua declined $50 million with a 50-50 split for a fight he and his team says he'll win.

Lampley is not a boxing expert and he knows little about boxing history. Kellerman and Merchant are boxing lovers from the start and boxing experts who know boxing both past and present. Lampley was not a boxing lover. He was an all sports announcer who ended up with the job he has now and thinks he is a boxing expert and historian. I doubt he has seen much film of the prime Ali. AJ might be the best heavyweight right now but I think Ali in his prime would easily beat him. Ali was much too fast and too hard to hit and threw too many punches to loses to a big puncher who is not that fast and averages about 30 punches a round.

Joshua has a "global mentality"? The guy won't even entertain the possibility of fighting outside the UK and has the personality of a wet sock. Cosmic personality my arse.

Wtf is he on about? That comparison should not be made...at all. Pacquaio was closer to Ali than Joshua could ever hope to be tbh.

What does a totally shot, miles past prime Ali losing to Holmes have to do with anything? That Holmes would probably outbox today's AJ.

AJ may quite possibly have the most dull personality of any top guy. Dude is super PC and hardly wants to say anything controversial. When he does say things or does things that those deem controversial, he will either back track or delete his tweets/videos. Does that sound like Ali to you?

So you think Lampley is being biased because Wilder is a Showtime fighter?

AJ has been televised on Showtime for how many fights now...?

he was making a decent comparison saying that Ali was about a decade past his prime, but still took money to get his ass kicked by a prime Holmes.

meanwhile AJ is in his prime, and won't take 50 mil to take a fight that he claims he will win.
