Although I personally believe kov won the first fight... there was a bit of controversy over the ending of the second fight, but kov was done without the low shots....Ward hit him with a straight up bomb which kov hadn’t recovered from just before the low shots.... Ward may not have gotten a clean win but he mentally destroyed kovalevComment

All you do is bash black fighters you pathetic subhuman bigot. Ward tore Kov's ass up and turned him into damaged goods.Comment

Kovalev definitely won the first Ward fight. Ward obviously hit him with some low blows in the second, but Ward was breaking him down and Kov seemed to be on the way out regardless. I always thought GGG could take Kovalev, so I'm not too surprised that he's lost to some upper level LHW.Comment

That’s usually the case after a top end fighter receives their first loss
Their inner invincibility is taken and in some cases never returns because they realize they’re beatable , it’s easier for other fighters to get Wins off them afterwards.
Give Ward his props , he was the one who beat the Krusher who many thought was unbeatable and in the second fight basically made him quit
Props to Alvarez for doing it again but Give credit to the man who did it firstComment

Does tapping out now mean jumping up in weight and taking on the divisions biggest challenge and beating him 2 times
Then deciding to retire and be a guaranteed first ballot HOFer
If that’s what it means Then yeah Ward tapped out
None of these new Murderers row fighters you speak of have beaten anyone above b- class fighters and haven’t proven themselves to be anywhere near Wards level and none have any sort of Following to make the fight a financially enticing one for Ward to have consideredComment

My thoughts are Alvarez is much different than Ward. He is a clean fighter who follows the rules. He doesn't grab, and hold, wrestle and maul, hold and hit, head butt and hit low. He lands fast accurate punches from short, long, and mid range without having to hold his opponent with one hand to make those punches land. He is a pleasure to watch fight while Ward is horrible to watch fight.Comment
