Why always Chavez? I saw Latino Legends, a DVD from some Mexicans doing a documentary, and they said Carlos Ortiz was the Julio Chavez of his time. If you guys actually watched Cotto fight early in his career, or ****, before Corley, he has more in compand with Quintana than Chavez, plus Chavez was a Featherweight before Welterweight, Cottos a Lightwelterweight going to Lightmiddleweight or atmost Middle. Not the same thing.

ummm...Chavez didnt just jump 4 weight divisions, first he became champion in the SUPER Featherweight division, then LIGHTweight division, then light WELTER weight division, he didnt move up to welter till late in his career and never won a title there, and hows Cotto gonna jump 2 weight divisions?!?! hes moving up to welter not lithgtmiddle, and another thing Chavez faught most of his career at lightwelter(140lbs) which is where Cotto is now, and Cotto still has yet to win a major belt. but that was my first impression of Cotto, in my opinion he resembled Chavez in alot of ways, kinda still does

LOL......Sr. was smart enough to teach his son what he knew and teach him better, just so happened that sr. respected mexican fighters and part of a result of this was to show his son the best of what trinidad sr. knows, saw or experianced, is what made felix a great fighter.

And he lost to Meldrick Taylor, who didnt even have Cottos record at the time, with 40 over fights at Superfeatherweight. So Cotto started at Lightwelter and Chavez started at featherweight beating much smaller fighters.
