A lot of those blemishes on Chilembas record were hometown decisions to be fair.

He's an awkward, crafty mofo you might beat but you won't look good doing so. That was just Bivols 14th pro fight.

This is the one weight class where I think my views of the fighters go against the grain. I would put Bivol 1, Gvozdyk 2 and Jack 3 in this division. I'm confident things will play out over the next 12-18 months to support this. Think Stevenson is about to bite the bullet, Beterbiev is overrated and Alvarez is nothing special. I even might lean towards Barrera being #4 in the division.

He's what I expected going up the ranks... Excellent technique, great speed, average power, average stamina... We still have to see what kind of chin he has... Won a cheesy belt on a cheesy fight...

Stevenson, Beterbiev, Alvarez all beat him... Weakest belt holder as we speak... Would make a riot at SMW doe...

Jack or Gvozdyk would be a good test next...

It was Bivol vs an opponent; "look at the way he did that, and this, and that..." It took 9 rounds for Chilemba to start to get his credit. They kept talking about Kov's struggle but forgot all about Gvozdyk's easy night with Chilemba.

Anyway, Bivol is a good figher. I don't know if he has an inside game tho. He looks smaller than the other light heavys, but he seems to have enough power to keep guys honest. But he is green imo - he didn't preserve his energy for 12 rounds. He spent himself enough in the first half to really lower his output towards the end of the fight.
Yeah max was just as bad. It is becoming so hard to watch fights on HBO and ESPN with the sound up. The announcers never seem to acknowledge when the non network guy does anything and they over accentuate what the network guys did.

At least when you go into the rbr thread serious, rational posters notice the same thing. It's not like Kov wasn't ahead IMO (although I wasn't scoring like usual) it's like they made Kov was just killing him when it was clear that Kov's punches were losing steam, which is a major development that allowed Alvarez to stay in the fight.

Was Kov scoring-absolutely. It just felt like they weren't telling us what was happening but what they wanted to happen or what they expected to happen.

Chilemba is a top notch contender, won 4 or 5 rounds against Kovalev, on the wrong end of close decisions against Bellew and Alvarez. Bivol just shut this guy out. Only Beterbiev would give him a run for his money imo.

I think you're thinking of Makabu?

Bellew fought Chilemba twice. one was a draw which many including myself thought Chilemba won. The second one Bellew won a fairly close UD, which i personally thought was right.

He didn't press. Played it safe. It was an easy win for him.
