Message to Kov.
You were brought up as a guy who could throw a good jab and good right hand. That's how you were taught. You were raised on this style. Wrestle guys who try to get inside and keep them at the end of your shots.
Every last fighter who wanted to be great had to change their style and brawl at times. Leonard learned against Duran, Ali learned against Frazier and so on. Two guys who I would call great never mastered the art of fighting inside. They could trade, but inside fighters they weren't good to me at all. Who are these two greats?
Thomas Hearns and Wladimir Klitschsko.
These guys could trade with the best of them and keep you at the end of their jab. But they couldn't fight inside and that's what kept them from becoming legendary. But to their credit they utilized the strengths and played the cards that they were dealt with. Someone always comes along and disregards your style and imposes theirs. It's inevitable. There will always be Sanders and Brewsters as well as Haglers and Barkleys-and Wards. Maybe not as great but style wise they force boxers to fight inside.
Many thought that Ward lost to Kov the first time. Maybe. But the rematch wasn't the same. Why? Because of Jackson? I thought that it was because Ward found out that Kov wasn't that hard of a puncher and thought that if he could get inside and rough Kov up that he could win.
Many true boxing aficionados came away from the first fight thinking that it would happen since he didn't ko Ward like many said that he would. Yet this man blames Jackson for his loss to Ward, lmao. Ward got inside and what did Kov do? He was able to clinch Ward in the first fight, why not the rematch? Ill tell you why-will. People talked about Kovs stamina. Bull****. He went 12 th first time and many thought that he won.
Wlad changed trainers because he had learned all he could from his trainer and needed something new. He had already been previously stopped in a fight and this was his second loss.
Hearns lost to two legends, lost to Barkley and kept his trainer his whole career and we all knew that Manny wasn't a teacher of defense, but offense. Wlad lost again but he never blamed Steward. Wlad went on to become a great fighter and so did Hearns. I would've been ok if Kov said he needed some thing new. Ok, after one fight...eh, ok. But he blames Jackson for his loss and blames him for everything. Mofo you couldn't fight inside and that's why you lost. Blame yourself before you blame your trainer fool.
